Crop & composition

Hero 21:9 — Bottom third — the desert floor holds the frame; sky is negative space, not subject.
Band 3:1 — full-bleed permitted; text stays inside the grid.
Detail 4:3 — Off-center on the leading grid column. Nothing centered except a lone saguaro, and then deliberately.

Why executable treatment

A spec that says “duotone in the accent over grayscale” is asking an AI coding tool to art-direct from prose. This page — and section 3d of every downloaded spec — replaces the sentence with the artifact: an SVG filter whose table values are computed from the same tokens as the buttons and borders, a numeric grade, and a crop grammar. Storm crushes the blacks. Fog lifts them. Dusk drifts the accent cool. The land is still the language; now the photographs speak it too.
